FLSA Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt, 40 Hours per Week

Hourly Rate: $24 - $28/hour

Summary

The Development & Programs Associate provides support for the development team for a variety of fundraising initiatives to ensure the seamless execution of concurrent campaigns and strategies. This individual supports the Director of Development, the Special Events Manager, and the Executive Director, as determined. The scope of responsibilities shall align with achieving annual fundraising goals, community engagement, and program support while supporting the overall mission of the RMHCSC organization.

Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Southern California _**(herein referred to as RMHCSC or the Chapter) **_is located in Los Angeles near several neighboring hospitals. Our mission is to provide comfort, care, and support to children and families in Southern California. To achieve its vision of creating a community where children and their families embrace life and healing with a sense of hope, enthusiasm, and joy, RMHCSC operates seven Ronald McDonald Houses, three Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, and Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

**Development Activities**
- In partnership with the Director of Development, Events Manager and Volunteer Manager help plan and execute Annual Donor and Volunteer Appreciation events
- Work with Administrative Coordinator, to maintain donor records and donations received for events, including silent and live auctions in Raiser’s Edge.
- Facilitate year-round solicitation and securing of auction items for LBRMH signature events
- In partnership with the Director of Development and Special Events Manager, research new community partners for LBRMH annual Walk for Kids event, securing new teams and funding
- Develop, build, and strengthen donor relationships through engagement, communication, and recognition.

**Community Outreach & Events**
- Provide logístical support for all major events and assist with special events, including 3rd party fundraising initiatives as assigned.
- Take the lead on sustaining the Red Shoe Society, a community of young professionals who support the LBMRH through social engagement and crowd-funding activities.
- Represent the charity at networking events and assist with staffing of local community events and Pop-Up events to help spread our mission and vision as determined.
- Demonstrate the ability to work with other staff, volunteers, and houseguests in a collaborative and compassionate manner

**Administrative Duties**
- Generate reports pertaining to the fund development mission
- Maintain record keeping of donor information and touches in Raiser’s Edge donor database as requested by the Director of Development, Special Events Manager, and/or Executive Director
- Maintain record keeping of Heart of the House & Circle of Healing annual giving program, ensuring donor giving levels are accurate and continually updated
- Maintain database of event sponsors and current Raisers Edge lists for accuracy

**Knowledge and Skills**

General knowledge and demonstrated experience with office management; knowledge of the organizations and operations of administrative programs; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other staff, employees, and the public; ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form. Superior writing ability, analytical skills, and attention to detail.

**Education, Work Experience, and Qualifications**

Proven record of accomplishment/support in marketing, communications or public relations for a recognized not-for-profit institution. Self-motivated and able to solve problems. Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of people and personalities. Experience working with volunteer committees and boards.

- Bachelor's degree or 3 years of non-profit related work experience preferred
- Confident communicator and outstanding interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with and interact effectively with internal and external contacts.
- Ability to manage meetings and present to internal and external audiences.
- Proficient in Raiser’s Edge or comparable database management system
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and organizational skills are a must with attention to detail.
