**Purpose Statement**

The job of School Receptionist/Attendance Secretary was established for the purpose/s of providing general clerical support, ensuring accurate student attendance records, and assisting students, parents, teachers, and visitors.

This job requires accuracy and attention to detail. Incumbents are expected to work independently and carry out administrative details without requiring the immediate attention of an administrator.

This position is 12-months, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. You are required to work Open EDP Days and Monday-Friday during summer break.

This job reports to Executive Assistant Head of School or Designee

**Salary**: $30,000 - $35,000 and commensurate with experience

**Essential Functions**
- Greets individuals entering the school office (e.g., visitors, parents, students, vendors, etc.) for the purpose of responding to inquiries, directing individuals to appropriate location/personnel and/or ensuring that all visitors have signed in on the visitor’s log.
- Oversee daily attendance processes for accurate completion.
- Ensures accuracy of attendance records with division administrative assistants.
- Complete/submit attendance reports associated with student attendance to appropriate agency.
- Public School Bus Transportation _(working with school districts/registering students for buses, etc.)_
- Support Director of Admission
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.

**Qualifications**:
**Knowledge of**
- General office methods, procedures, and business techniques
- Telephone techniques and etiquette
- Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
- Data entry techniques.

**Ability to**
- Enter data in computer quickly and accurately
- Accurately maintain records and prepare reports
- Accurately compile, review, verify, and record attendance data and generate reports
- Operate standard office equipment
- Communicate effectively and interact appropriately with coworkers, students, parents, and the general public
- To use patience, tact, and courtesy in dealing with students, parents, coworkers, and visitors
- Plan, organize, and prioritize work to meet schedules and deadlines
- Work independently with mínimal supervision
- Work calmly and efficiently under pressure, at times under high stress, with constant interruptions, strictly adhering to set policies and procedures
- Work cooperatively with others and use good judgment

**Experience**:
At least two years of general office/clerical experience, preferably in a school environment
