**SUMMARY OF POSITION**

The Food Runner is responsible for assisting and supporting the front of house and back of house to ensure prompt service and guests’ satisfaction.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO**:

- Responsible for friendly and timely support service for the food and beverage operations.
- Responsible for supplying servers with food items for the front of the house to function effectively.
- Serve general items such as food, hot and cold beverages.
- Stock up the runner station with all required items.
- Ensure proper plating, including additions and/or substitutions prior to bringing food to guests.
- Deposit dishes appropriately in the dish room or specified area.
- Effectively communicate with peers, management, line and front of the house employees.
- Assist in ensuring efficient service of all food and provide guests with exceptional service by assisting and supporting the wait staff.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization assigned work areas.
- If needed, describe the selection of food menu items to guest when dropping food to the table.
- Memorize all table and seat numbers.
- Properly deliver food and beverage items to the correct tables and seat number.
- Other Duties as Assigned by Manager
- Speak and write fluently in English & Spanish.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated and resourceful, with the proven ability to multi-task and operate successfully under pressure.
- Able to work evenings, weekends and Holidays.
- Successfully pass the food runners Certification exam.

- Ability to tolerate varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.
- Work entails chemical usage.

**SENSORY DEMANDS**
- Normal sense of smell, taste, touch, and sound.
- Normal vision range. Eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity. Ability to distinguish letters, symbols, or colors.

**MENTAL DEMANDS**
- There are a number of deadlines associated with this position, which may cause significant stress.
- The incumbent must also deal with a wide variety of people on various issues.
