**Description**:
The main duties of the Crisis Line Program Training Assistant are to support the Crisis Line training program and the agency in maintaining positive morale and motivation for staff, interns, and volunteers in fulfilling the agency mission and goals. The position will have an emphasis on working directly with newly hired crisis line staff, volunteers and interns. In addition this position will support reviewing, designing and implementing standards set by the American Association of Suicidology and 988/Lifeline regarding training practices.

This position will work closely with The Training Program Coordinator and Training Program Manager to support the crisis line in training and graduating volunteers and newly hired staff.

**Responsibilities**

**Volunteer Training**
- Serve as an Advanced/Senior Trainer by training new volunteers on shadow (training) shifts and classes.
- Facilitate makeup training classes and shadow shifts as needed
- Support and address any concerns regarding trainers and trainees.

**Crisis Line Staff Training**
- Serve as an Advanced/Senior Trainer by: training newly hired staff on shadow (training) shifts.
- Assisting with developing, maintaining and updating any training materials as needed, (i.e. feedback forms, quizzes, and/or other materials pertaining to trainee development.)

**Program Development and Support**
- Participate in the creation of a training plan for newly hired crisis line staff
- Facilitate training classes as needed
- Facilitate roleplay classes as needed
- Support developing and training new classroom facilitators (as needed/when not actively training)
- Support recruiting and training new trainers (as needed/ when not actively training)
- Support Training Program in developing training materials for trainers
- Support in the interviewing and onboarding of new volunteers
- Support in the development of ongoing education for volunteers
- Complete administrative duties to support the interviewing and hiring of volunteers as needed and track the training and feedback of those being trained on the crisis line.

**Schedule**

This is a **40 hours/week **position, where 8-hours per week is dedicated to providing shift coverage on the crisis hotline. Additionally ~14 hours may be spent providing direct training in the form of classes and/or shadow shifts to new volunteers per cohort and newly hired staff as needed. You have flexibility in coming up with a schedule for training and we will also work with you to come up with a set schedule to provide availability for training of new staff.***

**Hybrid Work Schedule**: 8 hours per week on site

**Level of Decision Making**

This position has the authority to recommend programmatic needs and recommend policies and procedures that improve, clarify, and support the crisis line program operation and quality assurance. The position has the authority to provide feedback and coaching to volunteers and new staff. In addition, the position is able to Interview and accept volunteers into the training program. Finally the position can recommend termination of volunteer contracts to Crisis Line administration.

**Supervision/Direction Received**

The position will report to the Crisis Line Training Manager and utilize consultation as needed. This position receives a minimum of 60 minutes of individual supervision per week, and will also utilize consultation as needed. In addition the Training Program Assistant will attend 1.5 hours of mandatory weekly group supervision. The position is strongly encouraged to attend all Staff Meetings on 2nd and 4th Wednesdays 9:30-10:45 am.

**Salary and Benefits**:
**Salary**

Compensation for this position is $29.00/hour for weekday shifts 8am-3:59pm. Shift incentives/differentials are $1.50/hour for shifts between 4pm-11:59 pm on weekdays and 8am to 11:59pm on weekends. Overnight incentive/differential is $5.00/hour for each hour worked between 12am-7:59am.
