**JOB GOAL**: Coordinate activities related to new student admissions and orientation including testing and data analysis for placement. Facilitate activities that support student and community involvement in the education process including health and wellness.

**REPORTS TO**: Executive Director of Curricum and Instruction

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Coordinate the intake, screening, and orientation of new students to the district.
- Assist in the district assessment program.
- Act as a coordinator of local human resources and school services in providing assistance to children and families that are at-risk.
- Make home visits to assess needs and provide support to families of children at-risk.
- Aid parents in accessing support services in the community for children and families.
- Coordinate school resources in advocacy of student needs including CPS reporting and staff training.
- Coordinate the district-wide “Second Step Program”.

**Coordinate/support Red Ribbon Week.**
- Support the Court Unified Truancy Suppression (C.U.T.S.) program.
- Support the implementation of the district-wide bully prevention program.
- Support in providing individual and group counseling.
- Coordinate the district Safety Night, Parent Night, Parent Academy and Career Day.
- Support schools in providing strategies for improved student success
- Coordinate crisis response teams.
- Collect, document, and maintain data on student(s) and services provided.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Graduate of an accredited college or university.
- Master’s degree in Counseling and/or Social Work.
- Experience working with elementary school-aged children and adults.
- Knowledge of school systems including special education
- Knowledge of the needs of the TESD student population and community.
- Bilingual required.
