We are seeking a **Shipping Team Lead,** in our new **Lockport Distribution Center**, to efficiently coordinate daily assignments, tasks, and requests to fulfill both internal and external customer orders, employing cost-effective methods and consistently striving to enhance established processes. Additionally, serve as a collaborative partner with other departments, understanding their needs and providing assistance, all while upholding a service-oriented mindset.

**This is a day shift position, working Monday-Friday, 7:30AM - 4PM.**

**What you bring**:

- Associates Degree or higher preferred.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position
- Functional Knowledge of SAL Logistics execution and warehouse management modules.
- Good working knowledge of Excel/Word/PowerPoint.
- Infrequent lifting, up to 50 lbs.

**What you will be doing**:

- Make safety a number 1 priority in all areas and provide consistent leadership in this area by performing monthly safety training and periodic audits of safe practices or deficiencies in safety.
- Document any safety incidents or accidents using the proper forms and following established Company protocol, report and contribute to monthly safety committee.
- Build and transmit shipments to third party logistics providers, monitor third party interface for accuracy.
- Lead the team in maintaining an accurate, organized inventory and champion cycle count process. Perform and record cycle counts for all finished goods according to cycle count schedule.
- Create picking and loading plans as needed.
- Open or Close Facility, when necessary, as a backup to the DC manager.
- Maintain documentation of existing procedures and document the development of new procedures.
- Communicate and train associates on all procedures consistently following up with them for compliance.
- Follow up with associates to make sure they are providing quality service and products to our customers.
- Ensure that team members maintain a clean and organized department.
- Perform all assigned tasks professionally, following all written and verbal instructions from your manager.
- Aid and back up to your manager including all aspects of facility management, invoice approval, 24-hour availability to respond to alarm company, if necessary, maintain temp labor logs/timecard and communication with agency as needed, and liaison with property management as needed or when requested by manager.
- Backup all aspects of the Transportation planner when on vacation or out of office for extended periods.
- Assign tasks and follow up with Associates to verify compliance.
- Provide information and assistance to team members and contract drivers when necessary. Communicate with other functional areas of the operation (sales, planning, purchasing, quality, and inventory) to ensure timely and accurate customer deliveries, warehouse efficiency and accurate inventory.
- Assist CSRs, providing information and answering their questions, help them with decisions that will ensure shipping customer orders on time.
- Oversee the daily activities in Grid, Tile, and Specialty Ceilings by working in close coordination with key piers and subordinate staff members.
