**Position Description**:
**Salary Grade: 4**

**Salary: $18.23 hourly**

The Pima County Health Department is hiring multiple grant-funded Border Response Specialists in support of its Border Health Program.

These temporary and full-time positions will fall under the Emergency Mitigation and Preparedness Division and will play a vital role in the southwest border operations. The position involves direct collaboration with community partners in the field, such as supporting asylum-seeker shelter operations, providing comprehensive services, and conducting intake and medical screening assessments. Working primarily in the field demands flexibility, reliability, and clear communication.
- This classification is in the unclassified service and is exempt from the Pima County Merit System Rules._

**Duties/Responsibilities**:

- As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, this classification may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. Work assignments may vary depending on the department’s need and will be communicated to the applicant or incumbent by the supervisor.- Assists in coordinating program activities, timelines, and resources to ensure smooth program execution;
- Works collaboratively with program staff to carry out program objectives and deliverables;
- Provides support in tracking program progress and maintaining documentation;
- Participates in community outreach efforts and engagement activities to gather input and assess community needs;
- Supports the organization and facilitation of community meetings, workshops, and events;
- Maintains program documentation, including progress reports, meeting minutes, and correspondence;
- Provides administrative support to program managers and coordinators, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and preparing materials;
- Handles routine administrative tasks as required;
- Stays informed about public health best practices and trends through ongoing learning and training opportunities;
- Seeks opportunities for professional growth within the public health field.

**Minimum Qualifications**:
**A High School diploma or equivalent.**
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Experience collaborating with external partners or across departments and teams.
- Experience in customer service.
- Experience with computers and minimum two (2) years experience in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
