Founded in 2014 and headquartered in NYC, SSPTMS specializes in providing clients with comprehensive traffic management solutions that work to improve even the most complex of traffic situations.
Our firm was developed by Sam Schwartz (famously known as “Gridlock Sam”), a pioneer in traffic engineering and management. Sam is a recognized traffic expert with over 40 years’ experience in the public and private sectors, even having served as New York City’s Traffic Commissioner in the 1980s. Sam is also a regular contributor to the New York Times and Queens Chronicle.
SSPTMS primary services the entire New York City metropolitan area, but our services are used throughout the United States (including but not limited to Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Florida, and Washington D.C.) and are ever-expanding.
**About the Administrative Assistant Position**:
We are looking for a diligent and organized Administrative Assistant to assist in the expansion of our team The Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting the President, General Manager, and other department Directors with communications, mail, inventory, and other administrative duties.
**Administrative Assistant Job Description**:
The Administrative Assistant will perform the following tasks:
- Answer and direct telephone calls, screening when necessary.
- Send, sort, receive, and distribute mail.
- Deposit checks.
- Track, order, and distribute inventory of equipment and uniform items.
- Maintain filing systems; retrieve and organize timesheets, incident reports, and other paperwork.
- Manage company facilities, including space planning and design, vendor contracts and relations, and office functions and services.
- Perform miscellaneous administrative tasks as assigned by the President, General Manager, and other department Directors.
**Administrative Assistant Job Requirements**:
- Considerable administrative skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attentive to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver license and personal vehicle required.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and material.
**Administrative Assistant Schedule**:
The Administrative Assistant will work in-person at our office in Floral Park, NY. This position is part-time, requiring an average of twenty (20) hours of work per week. The Administrative Assistant may work a flexible schedule, so long as all hours worked are within standard business hours (9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday).
Attendance is required at bi-monthly staff meetings located in Floral Park, NY. Additional meetings may be required on an as-needed basis at the sole discretion of management.
**Administrative Assistant FLSA Status and Salary**:
The Administrative Assistant is a part-time, non-exempt position. SSPTMS is committed to equitable pay. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range for this position of $18.00 to $23.00 hourly.
**Benefits**:
The Administrative Assistant will receive paid sick and safe leave.
Enrollment in our 401(k)-benefit program is available to employees at least twenty-one (21) years of age who work for at least six (6) months and for at least 1,000 hours.
