North American Fire Hose (NAFH), a worldwide leader in the manufacturing of fire hoses, has an opening for a Quality Control Assistant at our main office located in Santa Maria.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Perform inspections of raw materials, purchased parts, in-process parts and finished products according to NAFH criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/ or electrical measurements.
- Work with filed inspectors from UL and FM.
- Accurately document the results of the inspections and testing.
- Maintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner.
- Inspect all areas of manufacturing to ensure quality standards are met.
- Evaluate Customer Returns and report results.
- Coordinate calibration of all test equipment and fixtures.
- Participate in the construction and/or revision of specs for cost effectiveness.
- Assist in the writing and updating inspection procedures and checklists.
- Observe and participate in production processes to identify and evaluate problems in order to make initial recommendations for possible corrective action.
- Report, document and identify root cause of unusual production circumstances.
- Maintain a safe, well organized and clean work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Education, Training, Skills and Experience Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree preferred.
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Quality Control experience is preferred, but not required.
- Demonstrate ability to multi-task and excel in a highly timeline driven fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of measurement instruments.
- General proficiency of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

**Physical Demands**:

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time, and occasionally lift up to 80 lb.
