Headed by a board of directors, the BID is a quasi-governmental body that is responsible for increasing the property values of the Historic Third Ward. BID #2 operates one of the area’s top destinations and premier attractions, the Milwaukee Public Market In addition, BID #2 operates Riverwalk Commons - a pickleball court and concert venue, two parking structures, nearly a dozen pocket parks, a security team, and is assisting in the development of the Downtown Dog Park. Using the guidance of our operating principles - Sense of Humor; Common Sense; Organized Chaos - the focus is to look at ways to increase property values, tourism, and cultivate a high standard of hospitality to our roughly 2 million annual visitors.

**Job Overview**:
The Historic Third Ward Business Improvement District #2 is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Security to join our team. As a Director of Security, this position will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of the businesses, residents, and visitors within the district. Additionally, they will assist with the management and training of the security personnel. This is an in-person, full-time, salaried position with benefits. This position is responsible for supervising a 24/7 operation.

**Responsibilities Summary**:

- Supervise and coordinate the vehicular and on foot activities of the security team to maintain a safe and secure environment within the Historic Third Ward Business Improvement District #2.
- Conduct regular patrols of the district to identify and address any security concerns or breaches.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to detect and prevent unauthorized activity.
- Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and alarms, taking appropriate action as necessary.
- Train and mentor security staff to ensure adherence to security protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies and emergency services to address security issues effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of security incidents, investigations, and reports.
- Conduct ongoing inspections of security vehicles and equipment and facilities to ensure optimal functionality.
- Handle scheduling of staff and reviewing timecards.
- Provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders, addressing inquiries and concerns professionally and courteously.
- Assist with the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and training programs.

**Qualifications**:

- Prior experience in security or law enforcement is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively supervise and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in using surveillance and security equipment.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
- Supervise a 24/7 operation.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

**Compensation & Benefits Package**:
Compensation will be competitive based on experience. Full-time benefit package after initial probationary period includes paid time off, free parking, health/dental/vision/short-term disability insurance, retirement savings plan with company match, and a cell phone stipend. This position will be provided with a work laptop.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
