Elmhurst Hospital Center (EHC) is the major tertiary care provider in the borough of Queens. The hospital is comprised of 545 beds and is a Level I Trauma Center, an Emergency Heart Care Station and a 911 Receiving Hospital. It is the premiere health care organization for key areas such as Surgery, Cardiology, Women's Health, Pediatrics, Rehabilitation Medicine, Renal and Mental Health Services.

9:00AM-5:00PM

The Assistant Director of Fiscal Affairs (Assistant Director of Student Affairs) is responsible for administrative, operational, and programmatic support services supporting student affairs activities at NYC Health + Hospitals | Elmhurst and Queens. This position shall be knowledgeable about institutional program policies and procedures and provide support to large or complex programs or multiple smaller programs. The Department of Student Affairs manages all academic programs providing specific services and/or activities. It is understood that we have many Schools of Medicine and Allied Health Schools to handle with many various objectives and requirements. In doing so, all provisions are structured under the scope of the program letter of agreements and student agreements that must be met at all times. This position directly reports to the Chief Financial Officers at Elmhurst and Queens Hospitals.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Provide support to the Chief Financial Officers at Elmhurst and/or Queens Hospitals, including but not limited to preparing correspondence for signature; acting as the liaison between the Icahn School of Medicine of Mount Sinai, various Schools of Medicine, Elmhurst and/or Queens Hospitals for preparing for site visits; managing faculty appointments and reappointments; maintaining elective goals and objectives; and preparing all materials needed for meetings and finalizing grades of all students for submission to the site assigned School of Medicine.
- Process students every two, four, six, and twelve weeks, including but not limited to working with Elmhurst and/or Queens HR for creating Peoplesoft HR accounts and mandatory Peoplesoft training enrollments, scheduling OHS appointments for health clearance, credentialing and onboarding, and providing orientation materials.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all institutional and H+H Corporate requirements for students working at Elmhurst and/or Queens Hospitals. Act as the liaison with staff in clinical departments to manage program activities and training, accomplish program objectives, and ensure cooperative efforts are enhanced and available resources are utilized.
- Manage the rotations of all Medical Schools of Education and Allied Health Schools of both sites students and resolve issues that may arise pertaining to placements or affecting students during the rotations.
- Manage the yearly orientation of new and returning third-year SGU students, including integrating presentations from H + H | Human Resources, Risk Management, and Health Information Systems.
- Maintain fourth-year students’ elective schedules and collaborate with the students and SGU to ensure placement in necessary electives offered at Elmhurst and Queens.
- Continuously work in tandem with the Chief Financial Officers at Elmhurst and/or Queens Hospitals to ensure that all current and future Program Letters of Agreement and Student agreements are current and that any alerts regarding the amendments and terminations are addressed directly.
- Liability and contract negotiations between education institutions are essential. The Assistant Director for Student Affairs works directly with the Associate Executive Director of Affiliation and Chief Financial Officers at Elmhurst and/or Queens Hospitals to prepare and support the development of program letters of agreement and students’ agreements between various educational institutions and Health + Hospitals Corporate.
- Orchestrate all aspects of the invoicing and follow-up process with all of the Schools that involve the payments to be made directly to The Departments of Finance of both H+H hospitals. This shall optimize the routing of payments to the facilities in order to meet the expectations. This process is inclusive of, but not limited to, submission and reporting of student evaluations to appropriate institutions, review and approval of Central Office Billing Validations, and formal dissemination and release of Attestations for Student Education services provided to the local finance department for reimbursement.

1. Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance
