The Payload and Ground Systems Division (PGSD) within the Northrop Grumman Space Systems pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefines engineering capabilities, and drives advances in various sciences. Our team is chartered with providing the skills and innovative technologies to develop, design, produce and sustain optimized product lines across the sector while providing a decisive advantage to the warfighter.

We are seeking a **Process Improvement Analyst** (Level 2/3) to join our Engineering team. Come be a part of our mission.

The** Process Improvement Analyst** will lead improvement projects for engineering teams across the business unit from concept identification through implementation and sustainment to ensure programs are integrated vertically and horizontally across the organization. This role requires strong skills and extensive experience in project management, interpersonal communication, and problem solving. This role will be critical to timely and effective project execution for improving, modernizing, and upgrading engineering tools, processes, standards, and training materials. Working alongside and acting in partnership with internal and external customers and stakeholders, the Process Improvement Analyst will streamline Engineering Operations and deliver impactful results to key business areas such as Design, Analysis, Tooling Engineering, Test Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Configuration Management.

**This position may be filled at either the Level 2 or Level 3 and may be located at one of four main operating unit campuses in, Commerce, Oxnard, or Goleta, CA, or Devens, MA.**

Primary responsibilities include:

- Develop and utilize key performance indicators and other cascading metrics to assure daily achievement of Engineering operational objectives.
- Conduct studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, and cost avoidance.
- Based on outcomes from the studies, develop and implement plans and programs for tool and standards improvements and revisions to operating methods.
- Perform gap analyses to identify operational risks and opportunities in the areas of staffing, skills, tools, processes, standards, and more.
- Create capacity planning tools and perform staffing analysis for functional engineering teams.
- Produce executive-level briefings and charts which clearly and concisely communicate important information in support of data-based decision-making.
- Lead kaizen events through careful selection of cross-functional teams and clearly establish roles and responsibilities for persons such as kaizen champion, project leader, facilitator, etc.
- Develop and manage project plans which meet targets for budget, schedule, and project objectives.
- Effectively drive teams to achieve the desired results and bring work product to market in its intended use.
- Employ a functional knowledge of a wide variety of processing models that focus on continuous improvement of lead time, mistake-proofing, process effectiveness, and elimination of waste.
- Continuously demonstrate the ability to optimize process capabilities through rigorous use of LEAN principles, teaching, coaching, documenting lessons learned, and general communication.

**Basic Qualifications for a Level 2**:

- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university and 3+ years of engineering process development and/or project management experience OR Master’s Degree with 1+ year experience
- 2 years minimum experience working in a manufacturing environment in an Industrial Engineering or equivalent role with hands on experience.
- Certification in Lean/Six Sigma
- Highly skilled
