**Job Overview**:
As a Fire Sprinkler Designer, you will play a crucial role in designing effective and efficient fire suppression systems for a variety of buildings and structures. Your primary responsibility will be to create detailed plans and drawings for the installation of fire sprinkler systems, ensuring compliance with building codes, regulations, and industry standards. You will collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to develop designs that prioritize safety and functionality while meeting project deadlines and budget constraints.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Design fire sprinkler systems in accordance with project specifications, building codes, and NFPA standards.
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed drawings and schematics for fire suppression systems.
- Conduct site visits and surveys to assess building layouts, fire hazards, and water supply requirements.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate fire sprinkler designs into overall building plans.
- Perform hydraulic calculations to determine water flow, pressure requirements, and pipe sizing for sprinkler systems.
- Select appropriate sprinkler heads, valves, pumps, and other components based on project requirements and performance criteria.
- Prepare material lists, equipment schedules, and installation instructions for contractors and installation teams.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams during the installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
- Stay informed about advancements in fire protection technology, industry trends, and regulatory changes.

**Qualifications**:

- Highschool diploma or equivalent.
- A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements.
- Previous experience in fire sprinkler system design, preferably in commercial, industrial, or residential construction projects.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD or AutoSPRINK.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, NFPA standards, and fire protection regulations.
- Ability to perform hydraulic calculations and interpret technical drawings.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in design work.
- Professional certifications, such as Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) or Certified Fire Sprinkler Designer (CFSD), are a plus.

**Work Environment**:
The work environment for a Fire Sprinkler Designer may vary, including office-based design work, site visits to construction projects, and collaboration with project teams both on-site and remotely. Depending on project timelines and deadlines, occasional overtime may be required to meet deliverables.

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
