Position**:Lab Manager**

Reports to: Plant Director

**Description**:
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Manage duties, responsibilities, and schedules for Lab Techs
- Oversee testing chemicals for production needs
- Evaluate new processes, lab resources, equipment, software, and instrumentation required
- Maintain lab equipment
- Train lab personnel
- Perform correct deviations in personnel lab methodologies
- Use chemical principles to evaluate feasibility of new customer product request
- Advise on technical matters related to certifications
- Correct deficiencies in lab processes
- Design formulations to consume off-spec products
- Establish calibration schedule and source accredited vendors for instrumentation calibration
- Establish contract pricing for lab consumables
- Organize lab set up to for efficiency
- Keeps recordkeeping for lab documentation
- Writes technical documents to support lab evaluations
- Creates needed lab documents, instructions, SOP’s, guidelines, etc
- Suggest solution and oversee follow-through for quality issues
- Complete certificates of analysis (COA’s) for all our chemical companies
- Perform lab blends, dilutions, or any other formula
- Conduct trials in lab
- Investigate product issues
- Perform lab competency evaluations
- Knowledge of IATA/DOT for sample shipments
- Perform instrument validation and fit for purpose testing
- Develop and track lab metrics
- Produce suggestions to improve lab’s performance and efficiency
- Track product / performance data

**Required Skills**:

- **Must have chemical/wet chemistry experience**
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field
- Proficient in Microsoft, SharePoint, and Teams
- Integrity, with ability to handle confidential information
- 7+ years of lab experience
- 5+ years of experience in the chemical industry a plus
- ISO certified a plus

Pay: From $90,000.00 per year
