Spring Lake Ranch Therapeutic Community is searching for Overnight Support Staff. Support staff will be primary staff during overnights (10pm to 8am). Responsibilities include supporting residents during the night in any way they may need assistance, must remain awake and engaged throughout the shift. Qualifications include: experience in mental health and/or substance abuse recovery required, an interest in residential care providing, effective communication, and ability to administer medication.

**Essential Responsibilities**:

- Observe and interact with residents throughout the night, maintaining a safe and supportive environment at all times when in the role of primary staff. Remain awake and engaged at all times on overnight shifts.
- Provide immediate and appropriate intervention in the event of a resident crisis.
- Report significant health, psychiatric or behavioral issues to the resident’s team or on-call person if more immediate need, in accordance with Spring Lake Ranch Protocols.
- Prepare summaries of interactions and objective behavioral observations of residents at the end of shift.
- Train, prepare and oversee residents’ response to nighttime fire drills and ensure the safe evacuation of residents from the house during drills or in the event of a fire.
- Administer medications as needed.
- Complete incident reports within 24 hours for resident situations according to Spring Lake Ranch Policy and Procedure.
- Light housekeeping duties as needed
- Administrative duties as assigned.
- Assist with records requests.

- Maintain respectful, therapeutic, and supportive relationships with Spring Lake Ranch residents and clients at all times.
- Maintain resident/client privacy in accordance with federal HIPAA legislation and Spring Lake Ranch policies and procedures.
- Willing to draw upon own personal talents, interests, and passions to develop special programming for the community and develop relationship with individuals.
- Participate in holidays and other Ranch special events throughout the year.
- Attend weekly staff and department meetings and staff development opportunities, meeting the licensing training requirements for position.
- Participate in weekend, evening, town trip and on-call duty rotation as needed.
- Crisis intervention and assistance as needed.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in a mental health/human services area is preferred.
- Open to flexible schedule and open to work shifts as needed.
- Previous experience in mental health and/or substance abuse recovery required.
- Knowledge and experience of Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to complete some physical work consisting of moderate lifting and carrying of up to 40 lbs, and using stairs. This position consists of a combination of sitting, standing and walking.
- Ability to use independent judgment and analytical/decision-making skills.
- Effective organization skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with co-workers and other community providers.
- Ability to accept constructive feedback and on-going commitment to personal growth and improvement.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision, overnight shifts will be 9:45pm to 8am, with some flexibility as needed.
- Driver's License and good driving record.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
