Part-time Driver

Spring Lake Ranch is looking for a part-time driver to fulfill scheduled and unplanned transportation for the Spring Lake Ranch program including appointments, errands, etc. The driver ensures safety, vehicle readiness, vehicle cleanliness, and communicates resident and vehicle needs promptly whenever necessary. The driver must be professional, respectful, and be able to have supportive interactions with residents.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide safe and reliable driving for SLR residents and staff including transporting residents to or from Cuttingsville and Rutland. Taking residents to appointments, waiting with residents as needed, and completing errands such as pharmacy pick-ups, lab appointments, activity trips when requested.
- Purchase supplies and run a wide variety of errands for staff and residents.
- Ensure all receipts for purchases are submitted to the appropriate department for approval or tracking.
- Collaborates closely with the Administrative Assistant, Nurse, Resident Services Department, Logistics Manager, and other staff to ensure timely, efficient, reliable, supportive, and safe transportation for residents.
- Collaborates and communicates with other Spring Lake Ranch staff proactively and respectfully.
- Ensures security of medications, bank transactions, and other Ranch business in a manner that prevents loss or breach of privacy.
- Maintains client privacy by keeping client information confidential in accordance with federal HIPAA legislation, federal confidentiality laws governing alcohol and drug information as specified in 42CFR, State of VT confidentiality laws, and Spring Lake Ranch policies and procedures.
- Maintains respectful, therapeutic, and supportive relationships with Spring Lake Ranch clients.
- Alerts appropriate Rutland Program or Cuttingsville Program staff to any issues arising for clients before/during/after rides and intervenes and communicates in crisis situations appropriately and according to SLR guidelines.
- Ensures vehicle reliability by maintaining fuel level and assists in providing routine maintenance such as checking oil/fluids, scheduling oil changes, checking/correcting tire pressure, changing wiper blades, etc.
- Takes vehicles for service or inspection if requested.
- Keeps vehicles clean through trash removal, vacuuming, wiping of inside surfaces, and exterior washing.
- Participates in staff development opportunities as scheduled.
- Participates in staff meetings and activities when available.
- Other duties as requested.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Valid driver’s license.
- High School diploma or GED
- Proven ability to be proficient in communication, independent judgment, problem solving, organization, interpersonal/mentoring, and teamwork.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, dependability, and flexibility.
- Experience driving in all weather conditions.
- Able to complete physical work consisting of moderate lifting and carrying at least 40 lbs. This position consists of sitting, standing, and walking.
- Ability to manage stress (for yourself and others) effectively while maintaining a sense of humor.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision and open to accept supervision, guidance, and feedback.

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**:
Previous experience in mental health and/or substance abuse recovery is strongly preferred.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
