Position: Business Counselor

Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation has an opening for **one (1) part-time Business Counselor in the Business Partners program.**

Principal Duties:

- Conduct in-depth assessments of client businesses, examining their internal processes, financial performance, marketing strategies, and overall business structure.
- Advise and make recommendations on key issues affecting client businesses including but not limited to new entity formation, business structure, accounting/bookkeeping processes, legal matters, financing, hiring, and sales and marketing.
- Collaborate with business owners to develop customized business plans, financial projections, grant proposals, and other deliverables as necessary.
- Provide consultations to educate business owners on best practices, regulations and permitting based on their individual business.
- Conduct outreach and recruitment both in person and using digital methods in support of the Cypress Hills LDC and Business Partners
- Complete data entry and record keeping duties for the program.
- Assist with the execution of special events.
- Adhere to policies and procedures, maintaining a safe working environment,

prioritizing the safety of staff and participants while working physically on site and in the community.
- Demonstrates commitment to leadership development, community building, and community organizing as strategies for social change.
- Ensure participant compliance to program rules and regulations.
- Represent the agency professionally to all stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, and Economics or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of proven experience in business such as entrepreneurship, consulting, banking, financial services, or economic development.
- Strong phone communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Bilingual -- English - Spanish required

Physical Demands: This position works in both an office setting and outside setting during the workday. This role routinely uses standard equipment such as computers, cell phones, photocopiers, and standard equipment such as safety scissors and tape dispensers.

Travel: Position will be based at 276 Chestnut St. Some remote hours may be permitted.

Supervision:
Sr. Director of Business Services

Compensation:

- **$30.00** per hour, not to exceed 12 hours in any week
- All part-time employees are eligible to participate in the agency’s 403b Tax Deferred Retirement Investment Plan.
