Job Summary

The position is responsible for coordinating the school division's multifaceted approach to providing services for at risk students.

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for the hiring, supervision, and evaluation of staff for the school division’s Non-Traditional Programs including the Restorative Center, Learning Lab and GED/ISAEP programs.
- Provide support for graduation coaches and student advancement coaches.
- Manage division attendance policies and procedures.
- Oversee the Therapeutic Day Treatment (TDT) programs within the schools.
- Oversee the following specific intervention programs: Restorative Center, high school GED program and the Learning Lab.
- Supervises programs for homeless youth including the McKinney Vento liaison.
- Provide expenditure controls and regular accounting to the supervising cabinet member for requisition of materials and equipment to support specific student intervention programs.
- Collaborate with all departments and coordinate intervention programs to ensure students are served and their needs are met.
- Establish and monitor procedures for the screening, placement, evaluation, assignment, and reappraisal of students with regard to the assigned student intervention programs.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding student intervention programs.
- Provide progress updates to the School Board, staff, parents and the community on the effectiveness of student intervention programs.
- Assist principals, administrators and teachers with understanding flexible learning options/ intervention options for students and making appropriate referrals for student placement.
- Assist school staff with intervention planning for students at risk.
- Assist with transitioning students who have participated in a student intervention program back to the comprehensive school setting
- Evaluate student intervention programs to ensure student achievement program objectives are met.
- Assess and identify needs and provide recommendations regarding future equipment, site, program and personnel requirements for student intervention programs.
- Provide staff development programs for assigned professional staff as appropriate.
- Formulate and interpret policies and procedures and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations pertaining to student intervention programs.
- Prepare or direct preparation of required reports to state/federal/local regulatory and grant agencies.
- Communicate with the transportation department to arrange transportation as needed for students in intervention programs.
- Work collaboratively with the special education department to coordinate services for Special Needs students served in the assigned intervention programs.
- Ensure accurate record keeping of students receiving instructional services in intervention
- Coordinates effective development and implementation of the division Multi-Tier System of Supports. Plans, organizes, supervises, and evaluates the work of social workers
- Develops, reviews and recommends revision of relevant school policies and procedures.
- Models the WJCC Strategic Plan Values: Individualism, Integrity, Innovation, Accountability and Collaboration.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required)
- Master's degree in education or a related field; a minimum of five years of teaching experience, preferably at the secondary level; a Postgraduate Professional license with endorsements in administration and supervision is preferred **-**a minimum of 3 years leadership experience.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of school administration
- Skill in grant writing and monitoring; comprehensive knowledge of area of specialty.
- Ability to develop and present ideas effectively, orally and in written form.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school principals, associates and the general public.
