**Position Overview**:
Codie Sanchez and the Contrarian Thinking (CT) team are looking for an ambitious, creative, and irreverent Head of Brand and Content to take our brand and team to the next level. We need a professional focused on building brands for the long term while also driving immediate results across all social channels. This unique person will grow our social channels cross-platform, and will drive our social media strategy with virality, distinctive storytelling, and genuinely “contrarian” content. This position will report directly to Codie and will sit with the leadership team while directing and building a team of in-house creatives producing platform native content at a volume and quality level that is unmatched in the industry.

The team includes copywriters, videographers, producers, platform heads and editors. Experience in Instagram, Youtube, copywriting, and storytelling is critical for success in this role.

**Necessary Skills and Qualifications**:
Here's a list of primary skills we believe are necessary for this career:

- Have managed or led a fast growing team with 3M followers or more
- Prior experience as a content director, content producer, head of content or marketing at a major or fast-growing media/creator business
- 5+ years experience in creating and managing content production teams that balance quality content with intense production schedules
- Skilled writer, storyteller, visual media operator, who not only has their pulse on timely, culturally relevant topics, but who also has a strong understanding of brand
- Strong project management experience and can demonstrate the ability to lead, inspire, and work with a great amount of independence and freedom
- Must have demonstrated the ability to uphold editorial integrity, manage output, and measure / track content as it relates to customers/revenue
- Willing to work in a fast-paced environment with an openness to change
- Understanding of content management systems (eg, Notion, Buffer, Hypefury) and project management/workflow platforms (Asana, Notion, etc.)

**What is Contrarian Thinking and what do we do?**:

We also have our own investment fund, Contrarian Thinking Capital, that invests in the businesses and tech that supports SMB growth and our own portfolio company, Main Street Hold co.

So, yeah, you could say we put our money where our mouths are.

**Why our work matters**:
The “Silver Tsunami” is in full effect, with Baby Boomers retiring and their businesses needing a succession plan.

Their businesses have been run for decades, many at a healthy profit, but alas, they have been overlooked by institutional investors.

And since many Millennials are focused on becoming YouTube stars and not wanting to own their parent's landscaping company (even if it's making millions) these Boomers are forced to either close or sell their business.

Therein lies our opportunity.

We call them “Boring Businesses”. They are your local laundromats, car washes, pool cleaning routes, handyman services, etc.the unsexy blue-collar businesses that no one thinks about but everyone needs. And boy are they profitable.

But it's not all about the benjamins.

We believe our communities are a better place when our actual neighbor owns the Neighborhood Store and not a conglomerate.

We believe in Main Street over Wall Street.

We believe in thinking critically and cash flowing unconventionally.

We believe in our Contrarian Creed, which is our operating philosophy for our business.
