This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and thriving Dermatology practice. This busy practice is looking for a highly-organized, outgoing and friendly person to serve as a Medical Assistant. **The Medical Assistant will work directly alongside a very busy provider who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases** - the Medical Assistant is responsible for managing patient flow, assisting with patient care, demonstrating superior customer service and tackling tasks with the utmost of professionalism. Applicants must be a team player and have the ability to multi-task. Prior medical experience is not required - **we are willing to train the right person** for our team.

This position will be responsible for:

- triaging and rooming patients
- facilitating patient flow
- measuring and recording patient vitals in the EMR
- preparing, cleaning and stocking examination rooms
- assisting with surgical procedures
- returning patient calls
- securing prior authorizations and referrals as needed for medications, treatments and procedures
- educating patients on treatment options
- adhering to procedures for processing and tracking lab specimens and other diagnostic testing
- following protocols for instrument handling, cleaning, packaging, sterilizing and maintenance of autoclave.

Applicants must have:

- Prior medical experience, preferred
- Prior experience assisting with biopsies and procedures and knowledge of dermatological medications/treatments, preferred
- Proficient computer skills
- Strong communication skills
- Outgoing and friendly personality
- Professional demeanor
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail

This practice offers outstanding benefits and works weekdays only.

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
