The Dining Services Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient and proper provision of all dining services by training and supervising necessary staff. This role requires adherence to federal, state, county, and departmental standards of service, preparation, and documentation. The manager must understand and train staff on all facility policies and procedures and establish necessary guidelines. As a representative of the Dining Services Department and the organization, the manager must perform essential job functions professionally, timely, and with a positive attitude.

**Essential Job Functions**:
**Dining Services Management**
- **Daily Tasks**:

- Maintain Dining Department policy and procedure manuals, job descriptions, resident files, staff attendance, payroll functions, and inventory controls.
- Manage weekend Dining Department functions, including kitchen and dining room operations, supporting team members to ensure orderly service for all levels of care.
- Oversee daily operations of all dining rooms, including the FullCount reservation module, staff coordination, scheduling, hiring, discipline, and employee evaluations.
- Maintain high levels of sanitation in coordination with the Executive Chef, kitchen supervisors, Dining Room Manager, and Maitre D’s, meeting all local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Interact with residents and co-workers professionally and pleasantly.
- **As Needed**:

- Assist in the annual budgeting process for operational and capital needs.
- Aid the Executive Chef in the day-to-day operation of the employee cafeteria, including staffing.
- Stay current with advances in dining services, customer service, catering, and dining room performance through seminars, conventions, trade journals, and networking.
- Perform other accountabilities as assigned by the Director of Dining Services.
- Take charge of the department in the Director's absence.
- **Weekly Tasks**:

- Collaborate with the Director, Executive Chef, and Supervisors as part of the dining team.

**Knowledge and Experience**:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Minimum of 5 years of successful food service management experience.
- Prior experience supervising and managing staff.
- Thorough knowledge of New York State Health Department regulations.
- Serve Safe certification is a plus.
- Strong customer service orientation and positive interpersonal skills.
- Prior experience developing and managing budgets preferred.
- Working knowledge of Point of Sales systems; FullCount preferred.

**Physical and Sensory Requirements**:

- Ability to speak and write in English understandably.
- Ability to mobilize throughout the building.
- Ability to bend, sit, and stand for long periods (0.5 to 7.5 hours) during a typical workday.
- Ability to lift and carry 10-50 lbs for a minimum distance of 5 feet.
- Ability to push/pull a cart up to 50 lbs for a minimum distance of 5 feet.
- Ability to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
- Adequate sight and hearing senses, with or without prosthetics, to meet job requirements.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year
