Early Childhood Ministry Assistant Director

The Early Childhood ministry cares for the youngest members of our Grove family, sharing the love of Jesus with kids from newborn through Kindergarten. The Assistant Director works closely with the Director to develop a program that meets ministry goals, and works closely with volunteers to shepherd and tend to their spiritual care. While in this role, the individual will be trained and equipped for future leadership in kid’s ministry or another setting.

Reports to: Early Childhood Director

Works with: Ministry Staff, Volunteers, and ministry families

Works: Full time, approximately 40 hours per week, exempt (Wednesdays and weekends mandatory)

**LEADERSHIP 40%**:

- Recruit, schedule, and supervise volunteers for weekend and midweek programs.
- Build community and vision in volunteer teams to ensure overall health and effectiveness of ministry goals.
- Assist the director with coordinating appreciation for volunteers and staff.
- Partner with director in providing training opportunities, and resources for families in the spiritual development of their children.
- Evaluate effectiveness of Early Childhood ministry programs and collaborate with Director on future growth and change.

**WEEKEND AND MIDWEEK PROGRAMS 40%**:

- Assist director in the planning of ministry programs.
- Assist in overseeing midweek and weekend programming to meet ministry standards of age-appropriate environments for kids to experience God; oversee volunteer implementation and classroom expectations.
- Teach various age levels of classes for midweek and weekend services in small and large group settings.

**OTHER 20%**:

- Participate in planning and executing specific areas of Summer Splash, other special events, and global outreach objectives.
- Assist in planning and tracking of ministry budget and expenses.
- Cultivate intimacy with God and growth in Christ-like character through personal and corporate spiritual disciplines.
- Attend Early Childhood leadership team meetings, church all-staff meetings, devotions and trainings.
