Associate Director, Leadership Development

This position is of critical importance, as this individual will serve in a cross functional Business Unit position that is responsible for the strategy, development and continued innovation for the leadership teams across the organization.
This individual must have a passion and set of experiences that lend towards leadership development at every level in the organization. They will be responsible for collaborating with a high-performance team that delivers exceptional results. This individual should be focused on making innovative contributions to the organization, have a positive outlook, innovative, and be adaptable to a dynamic “startup” type of environment without losing focus on business goals and taking current leaders to the next level.
The Associate Director of Leadership Development and Training is responsible for training a diverse set of business unit leaders and a focused sales team to help them achieve success in a series of leadership programs, opportunities and the field sales environment.
This includes having the ability to:
- Develop talent to leverage functional competency models, recruitment, onboarding, training/development, and succession planning; foster a high-performance environment and culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Coach and develop Worldwide Content Development and business acumen through individual development plans for each employee, aligned to competencies and skills needed; Create upskill and cross-skill plans across the broader team.
- Foster strong partnerships with Sales and Marketing leaders to align resources supporting strategic regional growth opportunities and ensure that the education priorities align with the businesses' priorities.
- Lead, develop and maintain the Emerging Leaders Program
- Lead, develop and maintain Area Field Trainers Program
- Lead, develop and maintain Manager Onboarding
- Expert Level Facilitation and Presentation skills
- Manage organizational change, including collaborating with others from Business Unit and inter-organizational teams
- High Acumen for Project Management, people development and fiscal responsibility
- Certified in Leadership or Development Programs
- Manage Training programs for virtual, hybrid and in person workshops and activities in small and large settings.
- Create and maintain business plan and operating budget.
- Ensure that all members of the team follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety, and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, Masters Preferred
- Minimum of ten years of pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device experience
- Minimum of 4 years leading a sales or training team
- Minimum 4 years leading an organizational or leadership development program
- Served in a front-line sales role previously for a pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device organization
- Proven success in a sales role within a pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device organization
- Proven experience in leadership development, managerial roles and leadership curriculum design
- Certification or Training In Instructional Design Preferred
- Project Management experience and/or certificate preferred
- Responsible for training budget
Personal Skills/Attributes:
The Associate Director of Leadership Development and Training must be energetic, adaptable, agile, and embody humility. This individual should have demonstrated their belief in the importance of training others. They should be an impactful public speaker who has experience as a facilitator with various audience sizes, and has experiences around presenting with success to large groups.
The Associate Director of Leadership Development and Training must be able to work with leaders at various points in their experience, and has created adult focused education programs that are adaptable for all learning styles. They must be a quality project manager and communicator, who is experienced in communication and inter-department collaboration. This individual will be able to write workshops, develop eLearning with the help of partners, use technology to provide different training modalities, and work with multiple vendors to create the right curriculum for the organization.
