The Men's Legal Center Family Law Advocates is seeking a skilled and experienced paralegal or legal secretary to support our legal team. For this position, you are to have family law experience and will use your work experience and organizational skills to prepare and maintain legal documents, file motions, interview clients, conduct legal research, among other tasks that may arise. You will be working directly with an attorney.
Work schedule is Monday - Friday from 8am - 5pm. You will be required to bill at least 6 hours a day.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Communicating with clients
- Income and expense declarations
- Prepare petition of response
- Prepare basic discovery
- Prepare trial briefs
- Property declarations
- Daily meeting with your lead attorney
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of court forms, Lawyaw, Outlook, legal research.
- Bilingual in Spanish and setting up Zoom meetings is a plus.
- Dissomaster and MyCase is a plus.
- Organized, self-starter who can work independently or in a team.
- Must have good writing and verbal skills, along with good etiquette.
- Professional demeanor, dress, and speech required. #29 --make sure to write this number down. You will need this later.
- Must have thick skin and be courteous.
- Salary commensurate with experience._
