**Job Summary**:
Serves as department “expert” on grants and contracts administration with substantial responsibility for managing the AZBN/AHCCCS ARS 36-1803 grant program.

**The duration of this position is for the life of the grant, which is through June 30, 2026.**

**Job Duties**:

- Responsible for the day to day management of assigned team members, guides professional development, provides input and performs performance evaluations
- Responsible for all activities associated with scheduling and supervision of meetings of grant staff, grant advisory board and grantees in-person and on-line/virtual
- Defines department tasks, responsibilities and outcomes; and assists in resource planning to meet the needs of project or department goals and schedules
- Responsible for the set-up, and day-to-day functioning of the computer systems, troubleshooting computer and data collection concerns, in collaboration with the AZBN information technology department
- Prepares the financial budget in collaboration with the AZBN accounting departments and ensures adherence to all federal and state rules
- Monitors new federal research directives, revises department procedures, and communicates the changes to administrators and faculty
- May be assigned to create, develop and or deliver training materials for use by team/department; acts as mentor to assigned staff
- Prepares timely and accurate reports and ensures that work is within deadline requirements and in compliance with all contracts
- Sets department-specific policies for grants and contracts and provides policy recommendations that are relied upon by senior management/consultants and implemented
- Coordinates activities with program/grantee directors and managers and prepares appropriate reports for the same
- Coordinates communication to and activities with potential grantees, grant recipients, consultants and staff
- Documents grant activities and tracks progress. Prepares complex analysis of trends to assist in decisions
- Performs all federal and state audits on all grant related information and prepares reports for all expenses
- Hires, manages and evaluates the personnel on the project and fulfills all human resources requirements
- Provides input into developing the budget and manages the department and projects within budget
- Participates in strategic planning (i.e. business plans) to support grants and contract agreements
- Supervises the work of the clerical/fiscal/operations staff who work on grants or contracts
- Develops and directs data collection, evaluation and analyses of grant data
- Maintains records of all grant bills and prepares appropriate invoices
- Monitors project budget, authorizes expenditures of project funds
- Evaluates budgets for grant proposals from grant applicants
- Prepares and maintains records of databases
- Other duties as assigned
