In-house Structural Steel and Misc. Metals Estimator

**Job Summary**

The Estimator quotes structural steel, miscellaneous steel, erection and installation processes and services. This individual must have exceptional communication skills, required to effectively manage the long-term relationships we have with our clients. This same individual will be self-motivated.

**Required Experience**:

- 3+ year experience in Structural Steel Estimating or Construction
- Ability to read structural & architectural drawings
- Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) will be an asset

**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, schedules, and other documentation presented by the client, to accurately prepare and estimate projects. Including alternate and breakdown pricings.
- Manage Plans, Addenda, Changes, ASI, and RFI Etc.
- Prepare detail-oriented and accurate estimates & take-offs and estimate prices for any change orders on existing contracts, meeting assigned deadlines. Coordinate with Fabricators for bid date changes and scope review & quantities.
- Writing of steel erection bid proposals using Microsoft programs Excel, Word, MS Project, and other Estimating programs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interpret construction drawings, logistics plans, schedules and construction budget information is a must.
- Participation in project planning and representation of the company in meetings with clients and internal key players.
- Maintaining contact with clients & tracking potential project leads for future work.

Pay: $32,501.00 - $122,240.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

**Education**:

- High school or equivalent (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Construction estimating: 3 years (required)
