**Terms of Employment: 12 months**

**Basic Function: Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources, performs diversified duties in administering District Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance Programs maintaining all employee benefits and related records.**

**Performance Responsibilities**:
**To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.**Maintain and administer employee benefits, including group health, dental, vision, and life insurance policies.**Maintain and administer employee retirement benefits (TRS and IMRF), enter 403b deductions, flexible spending plan, and worksite wellness program. Enter all employees in the vendor online platform IMRF, Voya, and Allied Benefits.**Attend District Insurance Committee meetings. In addition, assist the ASHR and the CFO in preparing all pertinent information and materials necessary for the Insurance Committee Meeting agendas in consultation with the District's Benefits Consulting Service.**Assist in the creation of Insurance Committee Meeting agendas and schedule meetings.**Coordinate the employee Open Enrollment process.**Research and remain current as to insurance laws and regulations.**File and monitor workman compensation injuries and claims with the carrier and coordinate time losses with payroll.**Create and maintain accurate, up-to-date, and “confidential” personnel benefit files including, but not limited to, files regarding PHI as it relates to health, dental, and vision insurance.**Monitor and prepare various monthly reports. (FMLA, Unpaid days, etc.)**Participate in all new employee orientation meetings explaining insurance options and assisting in the completion of required paperwork.**Send out all notices required by state and federal law, as well as the District insurance plan, regarding coverage and termination of coverage of benefits including, but not limited to, notices under COBRA.**Coordinate and process changes in medical health insurance forms and wage deductions with employees, payroll, and the plan administrator and maintain documentation and process Qualifying Events.**Receive payment, and maintain records for all self-pay insurance participants.**Type a wide variety of correspondence such as letters, memos, and other confidential documents related to the benefits function of the District and present them to the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources for approval.**Administer the employee leave of absence program including FMLA, Parental Leaves, Education Leaves, etc.**Responsible for the communication efforts with employees for the explanation of programs and alternatives, claims questions or complaints, change of programs, or other general insurance & benefits related information in a respectful and professional manner.**Communicate insurance & benefits-related information to employees with updates on the District website as necessary.**Prepare monthly invoices from various benefits providers for accounts payable to process.**Prepare bi-weekly deposits of COBRA payments, District Paid Benefits payments, and FSA funding.**Serve as the administrator of the District’s Frontline Absence Management system by entering all new employees that require Substitutes only**Prepare Employment Calendars for all positions for FMLA and paid time off.**-
**Administer Unemployment claims through Equifax and participate in hearings as required.**In coordination with payroll, process Summer Payouts for teachers who want a payout at the end of the school year instead of being paid over the summer.**Manage ADA requests for accommodation.**Maintain current knowledge of applicable federal and state privacy laws and regulations**Maintain the employee administration module in Skyward employee profile
