The Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) is the largest Fire Department in the United States and universally is recognized as the world's busiest and most highly skilled emergency response agency. The Department's main goal is to provide fire protection, emergency medical care, and other critical public safety services to residents and visitors in the five boroughs. Some of the physical activities performed by Supervisors of Stock Workers and environmental conditions experienced are:may be required to independently lift and carry objects weighing up to 70 pounds; may be required to stand up to seven hours per day; may be required, after training, to operate a fork lift, and/or other heavy machinery; may be required to handle chemicals, flammable materials, and other toxic and hazardous substances.

Supervisors of Stock Workers may be required to work various shifts including nights, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

Minimum QualificationsTwo years of full-time satisfactory experience performing storekeeping activities, at least one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
