**Job Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead the implementation and management of the AVID program at SLAM Tampa, ensuring fidelity to the AVID model.
- Develop and coordinate professional development sessions for AVID site coordinator, teachers, and staff to ensure high-quality AVID instruction and support.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the AVID program, using data to drive decisions and improvements.
- Provide ongoing support and coaching to AVID site coordinator and teachers to enhance program delivery and student outcomes.
- Oversee and manage middle school student schedules, ensuring students are enrolled in appropriate courses.
- Monitor academic progress and grades, identifying students in need of additional support.
- Develop and implement course recovery plans for students who need to make up credits or improve their grades.
- Conduct regular meetings with students to discuss academic performance, set goals, and provide motivation and support.
- Communicate with parents to keep them informed of their child’s progress and collaborate on strategies for improvement.
- Work closely with teachers, counselors, and administration to coordinate support services for students.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions.
- Organize and facilitate workshops or tutoring sessions to address academic challenges.
- Stay current with educational best practices and integrate new strategies into student success plans.
- Foster a positive and encouraging environment that promotes academic excellence and personal growth.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a teaching, counseling, or academic support role, preferably at the middle school level.
- Strong understanding of middle school curriculum and academic requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Compassionate, patient, and committed to student success.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and student information systems.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field.
- Experience with academic intervention programs and course recovery strategies.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
