Public Affairs Specialist

**Duties**:
- Contribute to development and execution of a strategic communication plan with appropriate measures of performance and effectiveness.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute news media and community involvement opportunities, serving as command spokesperson and/or preparing senior leaders to participate in interviews and events.
- Document command events and activities, and disseminates photos, video, or related products through internal/external channels as appropriate.
- Facilitate messaging in internal and external forums that increases awareness of the organization’s mission and value, or that increases employee engagement.
- Prepare and disseminates news releases and feature articles as appropriate and uses all channels of communication to promote the command's interests, image, and goodwill.
- Maintain and regularly updates the command's social media sites and internal and public-facing websites, ensuring that posted information complies with applicable regulations, and advances the command's goals and objectives.

- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
**Qualifications**:
**This position is in the **Professional **Category at the **Full Performance** Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure.**
