Summary

About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25.

You may need to complete a 3 year probationary period, if applicable.

This position is with 7th Signal Command, located at Fort Meade, Maryland.



Duties
  • Contribute to development and execution of a strategic communication plan with appropriate measures of performance and effectiveness.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute news media and community involvement opportunities, serving as command spokesperson and/or preparing senior leaders to participate in interviews and events.
  • Document command events and activities, and disseminates photos, video, or related products through internal/external channels as appropriate.
  • Facilitate messaging in internal and external forums that increases awareness of the organization’s mission and value, or that increases employee engagement.
  • Prepare and disseminates news releases and feature articles as appropriate and uses all channels of communication to promote the command's interests, image, and goodwill.
  • Maintain and regularly updates the command's social media sites and internal and public-facing websites, ensuring that posted information complies with applicable regulations, and advances the command's goals and objectives.
