**GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION**

Purchase assigned production raw materials, packaging, and non-stock materials from suppliers at the best overall value (Based on quantity, quality, and delivery required). Communicate any material problems and participate in developing solutions. Understand and maintain the system to provide accurate information for all departments.

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES**
- Read and understand the automated procurement systems (MRP system) and it’s relationship to the various interfacing systems.
- Execute purchase orders of raw material, packaging and possible non-inventory items as directed by the MRP system and/or the Purchasing Manager or V.P. of Purchasing.
- Determine the lowest overall cost of transportation for each order. Follow up on all orders to ensure on-time delivery.
- Responsible for purchase order accuracy including price, delivery date, freight costs, etc. Handle any order/invoice discrepancies with the vendor.
- Develop, refine and document the cost accounting process in collaboration with the operational team.
- Focus on in-depth understanding of the manufacturing process to perform meaningful analysis and reporting on key drivers related to operational cost and inventory levels and transactions.
- Ability to interface and collaborate with operations personnel to understand and translate manufacturing flow to cost accounting process and identify and recommend improvements to current and future state.
- Support operations personnel in their objectives to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Build estimates of new and proposed product costs.
- Analyze cost transactions and recommend cost savings.
- Strong analytical ability to support the creation of new tools to help drive operational success.
- Communicate promptly with any material problems and assist in finding solutions.

**REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS**
- Self-motivated financial analyst with excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills with a strong interest in manufacturing costing and operational processes.
- Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and critical thinking skills.
- High Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Mathematical skills required.
- Background with financial analysis, cost accounting or related work experience with strong interest in analysis, managerial accounting and manufacturing process.
- Comfortable collaborating and communicating with operators across all levels of the organization with focus on building and fostering relationships.
- Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills.
- Ability to create and analyze data to help the business make decisions.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of MRP planning
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A demonstrated commitment to follow-through.
- Effective customer relationship skills
- Sense of urgency required.

**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**:

- BS Degree or higher required
- Minimum of 5 Years Purchasing experience preferred.
- Project Management experience required, and PM certification preferred.

**SPECIAL QUALITY/APTITUDE**:

- Analytical skills are critical. Diplomacy when dealing with suppliers and internal/external customers. **Develop and investigate** alternative sources of supply if anticipating issues concerning supplier or industry constraints (capacity or material) which may impact **multi-plant** supply or **increased** costs.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
