The Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing all operations and the profitability and growth of the Shop Department. This position supervises and manages a set number of Shop Technicians to assist in the achievement of departmental goals.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Interview and hire, mentor and manage Shop Technicians determined by budget and department turnover.
- Monitor workload and adjust shop technician schedules accordingly to achieve 100% completion within pre-determined deadlines
- Implement technician policies and procedures, creates standard work documents, conducts performance reviews, and enforces disciplinary action as needed.
- Introduce work orders into the shop production schedule and monitor their diagnosis and repair until completion.
- Ensure the quality of our technicians by performing scheduled maintenance, safety, paperwork, and appearance audits.
- Ensure individual technician training requirements are met and renewed within recommended time frames.
- Ensure a safe working environment through adherence to company training and safety guidelines
- Responsible for the leadership and development of current and new technicians.
- Occasionally meet and escort third party contractors that are onsite to perform facility maintenance.
- Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Proficiency of software products, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Tablet Applications, Raymond Proprietary Software, and internal ERP system.
- Proficiency of mobile devices to include phone, tablet, and laptop.
- Skilled in electric, gas, and LP truck repairs. Including welding, fabrication, and complete rebuilds.
- Skilled in employee management and development with ability to lead and motivate. Creates an environment conducive to attracting and retaining top talent.
- Skilled in both written and oral communications within all levels of an organization both internally and externally.
- Proven problem solver and decision maker. Applies sound judgment and reasoning, makes timely decisions on tasks requiring immediate attention.
- Ability to drive and achieve results by establishing accountabilities and clarifying expectations.

**Education and Experience**:
This position requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience of which at least 5 years must be within the material handling industry. Incumbent should have strong management skills and strong communication, leadership, and customer service skills. A strong orientation to detail, organization, and ability to delegate is necessary.
