**The Office of Graduate Student Services seeks an outstanding, student-centered Program Associate, International Education and Student Services** who is committed to supporting ESIA graduate students’ academic and career growth. The Office of Graduate Student Services (GSS), which includes Academic Advising, Career Development, and International Education, is dedicated to providing students with streamlined service for the full spectrum of the student experience, from developing academic and professional goals to successful job and internship search strategies. **The Program Associate, International Education and Student Services**, reports to the Director of Graduate Student Services. The Program Associate provides services and programs including individual study abroad advising, international education programming, and managing the Elliott School Language Proficiency Requirement. Additionally, they will manage an academic advising caseload of students, coordinate the International Internship and Freeman Grants, offer special programming for international students and participate in collaborative strategic planning with colleagues in GSS.
**Responsibilities include**:
**Study Abroad Advising**
Coordinates international exchange processes between students and institutional partners. Conducts pre-departure and re-entry workshops for exchange students and other students traveling abroad. Advises inbound and outbound students regarding study abroad and internship opportunities. Collaborates with the Office for Study Abroad (OSA), the International Services Office (ISO), and the Global Capstone team. Track exchange student participation and communicate imbalances and demands to academic programs and graduate admissions. Develops and delivers programs, materials, and services to promote and grow the visibility of study abroad opportunities to students, as well as program directors and staff.
**Academic Advising**
**Language Proficiency Exam Coordination**
Coordinates the administration of the Foreign Language Proficiency Exam. This includes but is not limited to developing a communication plan, coordinating with Academic Advising to ensure official results are cataloged and distributed, and coordinating with the Language Center. Serves as a consultant to advisors regarding foreign language requirement completion options and resources.
**International Student Support**
Plans and implements programming for international students including orientations and informational sessions. In collaboration with the GSS directors, creates and implements programs to support international students. Recommends innovative ways to build upon and improve practices.
**International Internships**
Coordinates administration of Freeman Foundation Grant and International Internship Grant to provide funding for students to intern abroad. Plans and implements information sessions, markets programs to potential participants to maximize opportunity, meets with students individually, and works with budget administrator. Helps students develop internships alongside career coaches and facilitates connections between previous and potential participants.
Perform other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position. This is a hybrid position with some days remote and some days in-person.

- Knowledge of international education trends, preferred.
- International experience and knowledge of international student exchange programs is preferred.
- Academic advising or study abroad experience preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills highly desired. Strong presentation skills with the ability to present clear and accurate information to small and large groups.
- Tactful, flexible, and able to interact with all levels of school administration, faculty, students, and alumni in representing the office.
