**What are we looking for?**

We want to add a **Human Resources Generalist** (HRG) to our team. As the HRG, you would be the face of the agency people and the heart of our HR department. You will assist in the employee full cycle from recruiting to helping with off-boarding. You will work alongside and closely with the HR Managers, Recruiters, and State Directors to provide positive employee work experience. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, you will collaborate to ensure that the department is meeting the needs of the state and realizing the vision and mission of SJCS.

**Your overall essential responsibilities will be the following**:

- Creating a positive workplace culture for employees within your state and offices.
- Recruiting, sourcing, onboarding, and interviewing top talent for the agency’s needs.
- Interface with vendors regarding employment verifications and I9 processing.
- Facilitate site-specific new hire onboarding (NEO) and ensure all necessary forms are received and uploaded into Paycom.
- Support key HR initiatives, annual processes, and projects as assigned.
- Suggest and support activities and ideas designed to increase employee engagement.
- Address employee relations matters, including policy interpretation, conflict resolution, and interactive processes.
- Maintain proper records by performing administrative duties with the employee database.
- Promote HR policies and procedures.
- Serve as backup to the HR Manager when necessary.

**The minimum experience, education, and requirements needed for consideration**:

- An associate degree in business, human resources, or a related field (required). A bachelor's in HR Management (preferred).
- 3 or more years of experience as a human resources generalist (preferred). Consideration will be given instead of experience with a preferred degree.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state-respective employment laws.

**You will catch our eye if you have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities**:

- Have experience and knowledge in Paycom, Microsoft Teams, One Drive, and Google Drive.
- Have an HR Certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or HRCI
- Excellent cooperation skills in team orientation and flexibility when needed.
- Experience working in a remote environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to be a team player who is detail-oriented, multi-tasker, problem-solver, leader, and analytically driven.

- Obtain a valid health certificate to meet current funding authority requirements as required.
- Having a valid state-issued driver’s license with a current driving record in good standing is required.
- Meet SJCS and the funding authority requirement of criminal background and record checks.

**Physical and environmental conditions include**:

- Work requires no unusual demand for physical effort except the normal risks or discomforts, requiring special safety precautions for operating a motor vehicle.
- Exposure to aggressive human behavior.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Travel up to 30%.

**The hiring range for this position ranges from $24.04 to $28.84 per hour, depending on experience.**
