Job Summary:

The People & Culture Generalist has responsibility for supporting or managing a broad range of HR related activities in the areas of talent acquisition, onboarding, employee engagement and performance, benefits and payroll, recordkeeping.

Work Schedule:

This role is a full time, hybrid-onsite/remote role, required to work onsite at least 3 days per week and may work remotely up to 2 days per week.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage full cycle recruitment of entry level and individual contributor roles. This includes coordinating job postings, sourcing candidates, screening resumes and candidates, coordinating interviews with the hiring manager, initiating job offers, conducting background checks, complying with all relevant laws and guidelines regarding reporting and records retention.
  • Manage onboarding for new staff, facilitating a smooth transition for new hires.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including staff files, HRIS data, and other HR documentation.
  • Handle queries and administrative tasks related to employee benefits, including medical, dental, pensions, retirement plans, and time off.
  • Leave management, including responding to employee requests/need for leave; managing and delivering appropriate leave related communications in compliance with laws and regulations; tracking the leave and leave return.
  • When requested, prepare ad-hoc reports on various HR metrics, such as turnover rates, diversity statistics, and surveys.
  • Support various People & Culture initiatives and projects that enhance employee engagement and well-being. This may involve coordinating/organizing events, addressing/escalating staff concerns.
  • Manage employee offboarding processes, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition.
  • As a member of the People & Culture team with overall responsibility for manager/staff relations, may give feedback and coaching as needed.
  • May conduct routine investigations.
  • Maintains employee and manager resources including the Virtual Muse (internal staff site), organizational chart and Employee Contact Sheet.
  • Super Administrator for Insights performance management system.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

  • 2-5 years’ experience as a People & Culture/Human Resources generalist or degree in related field.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Interest and ability to grow skills related to the critical components of a successful HR department including, talent acquisition, performance management, resolving conflict, having difficult conversations, employee engagement, training & development, employment law, maintaining employee files and HR files.
  • Digital literacy and experience with HRIS tools, and new technologies.
  • Maintain high standards of confidentiality and handling of sensitive information.
  • Use discretion and judgement in determining what can be shared, with whom, and in what context.

  • Adaptability and ability to pivot according to priorities.
