LA Promise Fund is strengthening the connections between a network of South Los Angeles area high schools, the local Community college, and the business sector to ensure that more local students are exposed to, prepared for and pursue jobs in the fields of Digital Media, Healthcare, Business & Finance, and Construction. This program is also expanding into Southeast Los Angeles. The goal is to continue a collaborative regional approach to align K-14 pathways for student success by strengthening career readiness and pathways across SLATE-Z, a federally designated Promise Zone and collective impact partnership with the mission to revitalize South LA. LA Promise Fund will partner with 11 local high schools and a community college partner. Specifically, the initiative aims to: 1) increase and support sequential dual/concurrent enrollment classes offered to area high school students ands schools; 2) work with high schools and students to provide a greater number of work based learning experience to students; 3) cultivate seamless transitions to post-secondary options along career pathways so that more students obtain degrees and certificates necessary to obtain jobs in high growth industries.

The Senior Director of Pathway Connections hired through a Broad grant will serve as the primary project manager for SLATE-Z’s Strong Workforce Pathway Connections program. The Director will also supervise the program runners of GirlsBuild and The Intern Project and two managers who do programming and monitor the Work Readiness Badge for Westbrook Academy, 12 schools in South Los Angeles and expanding to 2-3 schools in Southeast Los Angeles. Lastly, the Director will be engaged in helping generate work-based learning opportunities for students through developing industry partnerships. This is a full time, exempt position.

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES**
- Implement a plan to expand The Intern Project
- Establish regular cohort programming and online virtual opportunities for students to complete the components to receive the LAUSD Work Readiness badge
- Build business partner connections and supply advice and programming to connect with Career Pathway Connection, The Intern Project, and GirlsBuild in meaningful collaborations
- Liaison with companies to provide meaningful programming for students and flexible volunteer opportunities for partners
- Manage and update at least 4+ grants across the various programming including budget management and grant reporting
- Collaborate on grant writing and reporting
- Lead and support cross organization special projects including GirlsBuild Summit and Hello Future
- Act as primary liaison with LA Trade Tech College and East Los Angeles Community College in the creation of dual/concurrent enrollment course agreements and plans to ensure successful class offerings at/to participating high schools
- Foster a strong network of K12 schools working with their local community college to promote successful career readiness programming
- As needed, ensure dual/concurrent enrollment agreements exist between k12 and community college
- Coordinate the planning, implementation, and coordination of instructional programs consistent with the goals of the Principals/ school career pathway leadership and the program
- Assist schools in effectively scheduling CTE and dual/concurrent enrollment schedules to maximize the use of staff and support the instructional programs
- Coordinate professional development for school liaisons in the CPC program
- Navigate the K12 educational resources, policies and procedures to assist participating high schools to maximize effective CTE programs that promote career pathways
- Troubleshoot areas of challenge that emerge between the college and high school or at either respective site
- Analyze data using a variety of available systems to evaluate programming and for continuous program improvement
- Collaborate with public, private and non-profit institutions to advance work-based learning programs (student internships, mentoring, job shadowing, etc.)
- Manage the CTE program based upon the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and local boards’ policies in the area of CTE
- Other duties as assigned

**CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS**

**Education**
- BA/BS or Masters in Education or related field
- California CTE Credential/Admin Credential preferred

**Experience**
- At least seven years of experience with the teaching and/or administration of CTE programs
- Ability to coordinate a system-wide CTE program
- Experience training adults to achieve greater student success

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- Knowledge of the policies, organization and State, Community College and District, California CTE requirements
- Knowledge of dual/concurrent enrollment
- Strong management, interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in a diverse community
