**Direct Support Professional / Residential Counselor.**

As a Direct Support Staff Counselor or Residential Counselor, you will be responsible for empowering and supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in the community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned)

Provides a full range of Attendant Care services including but not limited to the following:

- Accompanying the individual to community outings like going to Movie theatre, bowling, doctor's appointment, museum,

Education
- Must have a high school diploma or GED, and experience and/or training in related field.
- Certificate of training approved by the Developmental Disabilities Administration
- Experience in home health aide/direct care/residential care or similar setting.
- Must be able to pass with a clean criminal background check.
- Valid Driver’s License preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee must be able to handle up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to all types of weather condition and road conditions when traveling. The employee may be exposed to bodily waste of the consumer. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work hours of a Personal Care Attendant will vary (i.e. weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays).
