As the Director of Benefits, you will be responsible for the design, implementation and effective administration of our comprehensive employee benefit programs for employees across all 50 U.S. states. Reporting to the Head of Total Rewards, your primary goal will be to deliver competitive, cost-effective, compliant programs that help attract and retain critical talent. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of employee benefits, compliance, and effective employee engagement programs to maximize the value of our benefit offering for employees.

**Responsibilities**:
- Benefits Strategy: Develop and execute a benefits strategy that cost-effectively meets the evolving needs of our diverse employee base, promotes employee well-being and supports attraction and retention of our most critical talent.- Benefits Administration: Manage and administer our comprehensive benefits offering, including medical, dental, life, disability, retirement plans, wellness initiatives and other voluntary employee benefits.- Cost Management: Collaborate with finance and leadership teams to establish and manage the benefits budget and spend. Employ effective claims management initiatives and long-term cost management strategies to assure cost effective delivery of benefits while maintaining competitiveness and compliance.- Annual Renewal: Lead the annual benefits renewal process, including plan design analysis and recommendations, cost projections and negotiations with vendors.- Employee Engagement and Enrollment: Develop communication strategies to engage employees in exploring available benefit programs and taking an active role in managing their health, wellbeing and retirement planning. Deliver an easy, seamless open enrollment experience leveraging available communication channels and technologies.- Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with benefit brokers, carriers and other vendors. Negotiate contracts, assess vendor performance regularly and collaborate with vendors to resolve issues and ensure seamless administration.- Compliance: Stay abreast of federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits. Develop processes and procedures to assure timely and accurate reporting and compliance with all regulatory requirements, including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA and other applicable laws.- Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize benefits data and metrics to assess program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.- Employee Support: Provide support and assistance to employees with benefit-related inquiries, claims, and issues. Act as the point of contact for escalated benefit matters and offer timely resolutions.

**Requirements**:
- Demonstrated track record of employee benefit plan design, compliance and administration in an 8,000+ employee organization with a multi-state footprint, preferably including California- Proven ability to create and execute multi-year benefits strategies- Extensive M&A experience, including analysis of material liabilities, “from to” benefit offerings, plan terminations and 401(k) mergers- Effective utilization of HR technology to administer benefits and, provide self-service opportunities. Additionally, manage information provided to service center to answer benefit questions and respond to escalated employee inquiries.- Strong experience with Workday is preferred.- Experience managing self-insured and fully insured benefit programs- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills with the ability to effectively partner with a diverse range of cross-functional stakeholders and external partners- Change-agile mindset and strong change management skillset applied in a fast paced, rapidly evolving organization- Knowledge and experience with executive benefits programs including deferred compensation and executive wellness benefits- Strong understanding of fiduciary responsibilities including leadership of retirement/investment committees.- Demonstr
