Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Patient Access Rep I. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring a positive experience for patients during the check-in and registration process. You will gather necessary information, verify insurance coverage, and collect payments. Your attention to detail and excellent communication skills will be essential in providing efficient and exceptional service to our patients.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a customer service or administrative role preferred
- Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of electronic medical record systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Empathy and compassion when interacting with patients
- Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance procedures is a plus

**Responsibilities**:

- Greet and assist patients in a professional and friendly manner during the check-in and registration process
- Collect and enter accurate patient demographic and insurance information into the system
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations or referrals
- Explain financial policies and collect patient payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with procedures
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries, resolving issues, and escalating concerns as needed
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate with other departments as necessary
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow data protection standards
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient flow and optimal experience
- Stay updated on insurance regulations and changes to effectively navigate insurance processes
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance job knowledge and skills
