**This is a _**seasonal and part time**_ position with the possibility of more hours, and based on performance, attendance and circumstances may also lead into a permanent year round position.

**This is a hands-on position responsible for**:

- Supervision of the Newark City Parks Clean Team which includes working with and coaching / training the employees on a daily basis. At times you may be assigned to other areas that we serve aside from the parks.
- Inspecting the parks and other assigned areas on foot every day
- Safely operating and driving company vehicles such as pickup trucks and box trucks
- Safely operating company equipment such as weedwhackers and pressure washers
- Daily reporting and interfacing with the Operations Manager as well as the client
- Daily reporting on quality of life and code enforcement issues using a company issued tablet
- Daily litter removal using manual tools and equipment
- Snow removal from curb cuts, park paths and perimeters and salt spreading (when in season)
- Maintenance of public amenity and utility infrastructure including graffiti, poster and sticker removal from telephone boxes, light poles, benches, trash cans and building facades.
- Painting light poles, public utilities, mail boxes and more as instructed
- Occasional landscape maintenance and planting, trimming and cutting weeds through the use of manual tools
- Weed inhibition on sidewalks and around plantings
- Set-up and takedown of outdoor dining equipment including tables, chairs and umbrellas.
- Provide support for special events including set-up and breakdown, placement of signage, furniture and barricades, and other general support duties as needed.

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- **Be a minimum of 18 years of age**:

- **Organization, communication and interpersonal skills strongly preferred**:

- **Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate**:

- **Evidence of a solid work ethic and verifiable work history**:

- **Experience in landscaping and/or sanitation maintenance will get you to the front of the line**:

- _**Experience driving pickup trucks and box trucks is a MUST**_
- _**Supervisory experience is a PLUS**_
- _**Valid Driver License with clean driving record is a MUST**_

This job requires working weekends from Friday-Sunday. If you cannot work weekends please do not apply
