**JOB SUMMARY**

Assist the Director with leadership and management of the organization’s athletic program and facilities, including assessment, planning, organization, implementation, and evaluation. **This is a Monday through Friday, afternoon hours position ( 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m).**

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Assist the Director with the supervision of the gym and the development of programs operating out of the Union St. Clubhouse athletic department.
- Assist with developing and fostering a positive climate for youth development - ensuring that Athletic members actively participate in various programs/activities, feel open to seeking advice/guidance from staff regarding problems, and receive care, respect, and recognition for their efforts.
- Assist the Director to ensure members understand and follow the Boys and Girls Club Code of Conduct and Behavior policies.
- Spend weekly one-on-one time to mentor and provide positive life and health-based skills and knowledge. Encourage discussion about interests, school, and home life to understand challenges and goals to provide guidance and positive feedback.
- Serve as a positive role model to the members to inspire them to realize their full potential.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**JOB QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- High School diploma preferred, and participation in a degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred, and at least 1-year experience in a youth organization is desirable and may be substituted for a formal degree.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and lead childhood activities and events.
- Consistently display strong communication and interpersonal skills in a customer-friendly approach.
- Demonstrated ability in cooperatively working with young people, parents, and colleagues.
- Team and goal-oriented approach required.
- Ability to consistently remain calm, focused, and professional in a large group and/or high-stress situation caused by conflict, difficult members, or parents.
- Ability to be flexible with base hours as assigned by the Union St. Director to ensure complete coverage of all open hours of operation.
- Ability to be flexible with summer day camp program hours.
- Bilingual a plus.
- Ability to pass criminal background screening.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 per week

Schedule:
