**Job Summary**

Our On-Site Group has an immediate need for a Health & Safety Officer to support activities related to operational, maintenance, and capital projects within a chemical manufacturing plant

**Here's a taste of what you'll be doing**:

- Enforce all safety, industrial hygiene and loss prevention policies as delineated by chemical group and plant standards.
- Conduct Safety Orientation for new, monthly/annual safety training and safety meetings.
- Monitor and report Core Safety Program activities.
- Conduct periodic Safety Work Permit Training and refreshers.
- Support Operations, Production, Quality, and Engineering departments with HSE requirements.
- Coordinate process Safety Management Program.
- Manage Site safety standards to ensure compliance with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain monthly safety metrics in support of monthly and annual reports.
- Perform all OSHA regulated reporting including OSHA 300 Logs.
- Manage Respirator fit test program with company nurse’s support.
- Perform and/or manage safety equipment inspections/checks as needed.
- Perform employee and area exposure monitoring as required.
- Participate and/or lead PHA, JSA, and PSSR’s as needed.
- Support production and engineering in proper creation of Safety Incident Reports and guide them through the investigation and corrective action process.
- Carry out the standards of the PPE program for the site.

**Your Background Should Include**:

- Bachelor of Science degree; preferably in Engineering, EHS, or Science discipline.
- Minimum of five years of experience working in a safety role within a construction, heavy industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Overseeing safety for multiple trades: mechanical, electrical, structural, etc.
- OSHA 30 Certification is strongly preferred.
