**Performs a variety of professional level tasks. May assist the Specialist in Transportation with planning, routing, and scheduling student transportation services for students in public, non-public schools and McKinney Vento (homeles students), including functional supervision for county and contractor bus/van drivers and attendants, and alternative vehicle including management of disciplinary issues.**

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**

- **Assists in the computerized routing, scheduling, assignment of transportation services and tracking/maintenance software.****:

- **Responsible for homeless student transportation routing and scheduling.****:

- **Responsible for Gen Ed, and Non-Public Student routing and scheduling.****:

- **Responsible for tracking and submitting contractors payments.****:

- **Meets and confers with appropriate Central Office personnel, school administrators, parents and other interested parties to resolve transportation issues, and attend Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) meetings, and hearings at the discretion of the Specialist.****:

- **Performs route planning and oversight for designated school buses and alternative vehicles throughout the year, and may be required to drive****:

- **Assists with the preparation and maintenance of office records including data entry for computer assisted routing program of all students transported, local, state and federal reports as required.****:

- **Provides oversight of regular and substitute bus/van drivers and aides and alternative vehicle services; regularly observes driver operations; and prepares bus road observation reports.****:

- **May be required to respond, investigate and prepare reports on accidents involving school buses at the direction of the Supervisor or Specialist.****:

- **Maintains continuing familiarity with the County and its growth, requiring constant review of all existing communities, new communities, and new roads that affect school bus/van routes, through on-the-road observations and from information received from the Planning Division.****:

- **Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.**
