**Duties**:
As a **Supervisory Equal Opportunity Specialist**, you will:

- Manage and supervise the activities of the Enforcement Support Division.
- Responsible for evaluating and reviewing regional director decisions relating to complaints of discrimination under Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, as amended; Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; Section 109 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended; Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973; the Title II of the Americans with Disability Act; the Age Discrimination Act; and relevant Executive Orders.
- Oversee the review of cause case determinations, requests for reconsideration of completed case investigations, complaint jurisdiction decisions, and matters involving First Amendment concerns.
- Direct preparation of fair housing related correspondence on behalf of the Secretary and Assistant Secretary to members of the public, other Department staff, other Federal or State agencies, and to members of Congress.

- Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation.

**Qualifications**:

- You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
- **Specialized Experience**:For the **GS-15** grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the **GS-14** grade level in the Federal service. **Specialized Experience** for this position includes:

- directing, implementing, and evaluating investigative and enforcement programs as they relate to fair housing; AND**
- **conducting investigations, equal opportunity compliance reviews, or litigation/litigation support to combat housing discrimination under Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, known as the Fair Housing Act, and other civil rights laws prohibiting housing discrimination; AND**:

- **Experience in managerial techniques, human relations and skills to effectively address a wide variety of employees, stakeholders, and client issues.**

Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or** **volunteer service**. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
