**Duties**:

- Designs, implements, and reviews activity plans.
- Observes and evaluates each child's health and development and reports on and maintains records of observations.
- Prepares and implements specialized programs for children with special needs, i.e. children with disciplinary problems, learning disabilities, or gifted children.
- Provides technical guidance and leadership to junior employees assigned to assist with program activities and participates in special projects.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.
- Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
- **SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE**:Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-0-4, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of a body of standardized rules, procedures or operations to perform the full range of broad clerical assignments and resolve recurring problems; skill and knowledge to operate a cash register, adding machines and other office machines; receiving payments, recording payments and completing customer receipts; and experience performing clerical duties such as creating various routine correspondence/reports, maintaining files/records, and reviewing and processing mail.
- NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
- **OR**
**EDUCATION**: Have successfully completed four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.

**COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION**: Combination of education and experience as described in the job opportunity announcement and education.
