We are looking for a Medical Billing Specialist to join our professional team. California Therapy Solutions is one of the largest physical therapist owned practices in Orange County. We have been in business for over 30 years and have always maintained a stable workforce and business operation. We are looking for a professional, experienced Medical Billing Specialist, with the desire and ability in leadership to help us continue to grow our business by handling the following responsibilities:

- Review all patient demographics and insurance information for accuracy to ensure clean billing.
- Confirm charges are accurately entered and billed correctly for reimbursement. This includes, and is not limited to, correct CPT codes, modifiers, ICD-10 codes, authorization limitations.
- “Scrub” all pending claims for accuracy.
- Electronic claims submission.
- Oversee and assist with insurance verifications.
- Oversee and assist with authorizations.
- Oversee and assist with answering telephone calls.
- Provide customer service regarding collection issues.
- Post all insurance and patient payments.
- Review and appeal any and all unpaid, underpaid and denied claims while including analysis of coding that assures proper and accurate billing.
- Resubmit claims that have had no response or are not on file in a timely manner according to each insurance payors contracted timely filing limits.
- Service each account in priority of importance and independently billing accounts with understanding of all applicable insurance and/or CMS regulations/guidelines.
- Research and prepare insurance credits for refund approval and payment.
- Maintain an error rate in accordance with company policies.
- Ability to handle multiple conflicting priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision while achieving defined goals and objectives.
- Oversee and assist professional staff in billing optimally
- Provide metrics to achieve desired goals
- Perform any and all other duties assigned.
- Maintain strict patient and provider confidentiality in compliance with all federal, state and local laws and guidelines for release of information.
- Track changes within the industry to ensure a current understanding of medical terminology.

Qualifications:

- Medical Billing (1 year)
- Physical therapy billing experience a plus.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to perform at a high level of productivity and quality.
- Computer skills including proficiency with Excel.
- Excellent follow up and tracking skills.
- Positive team player

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
