This position requires experience with ICD-10 and CPT codes and HICFA forms, experience with and comfortable using Excel, and experience with medical office systems. If you are organized and have strong attention to detail, we encourage you to apply.

**Duties**:

- Review and analyze patient medical records to determine appropriate coding for billing purposes
- Assign accurate diagnostic codes (ICD-10) and procedure codes (CPT/HCPCS) based on documentation
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by paper
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resubmit as necessary
- Attain pre-authorization when necessary
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Communicate with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies regarding billing inquiries or disputes
- Update patient accounts with accurate billing information and payment records
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in medical billing or related field is preferred
- Proven experience as a Medical Biller or similar role
- Strong knowledge of medical coding systems (ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS)
- Will be working on our medical billing system, Lytec, and will be trained if not familiar
- Experience with insurance verification and benefits and sending invoices
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes
- Must have computer skills in Excel, Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must have good follow through
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively

Note: All positions must be paid, including internship positions.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 - 32 per week

Schedule:
