At AstraZeneca, we have a bold ambition to one day eliminate cancer as a cause of death. We are seeking an Internal Communications Director to join us and help bring our Oncology ambition and strategy to life through communications that inspire the Oncology R&D community.

In this role, you will help build employee understanding of, and belief in, the Oncology R&D strategy and engage employees in shaping Oncology R&D’s culture through high profile internal communications programmes, such as town halls and our signature Global Science Days at our strategic R&D centres.

You will be a core member of the Oncology R&D Communications team while collaborating with other teams across AstraZeneca, in particular the Oncology Corporate and Internal Communications team.

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Lead the delivery of Oncology R&D internal engagement events (e.g. town halls, senior leader calls, seminars) including content development, audience polling, production, scheduling.
- Partner with the BioPharmaceuticals R&D internal communications team to unite the R&D function and seek out opportunities to elevate the work of Oncology across R&D, e.g. co-leading at the Global Science Days.
- Lead development and delivery of Oncology R&D internal communications activities, including strategic, employee, leader and change communications.
- Partner with scientists in Oncology R&D to produce engaging content that brings our strategy to life and captures the impact of Oncology work.
- Measurement of effectiveness of communication approaches, provision of analysis and recommendations to drive continuous improvements.

**Minimum Qualification Requirements**
- Bachelor’s degree with 8-10 years of experience in a related field.
- Established track record of delivering impactful, content rich internal communications programmes across multiple channels and stakeholders with demonstrable measures of success.
- Proven experience of working in a fast-paced global internal communications team or similar corporate communications environment.
- Understanding of and ability to translate science.
- Sound judgement combined with good interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong social and digital skills and knowledge of technology options.
- Manage conflicting priorities, stakeholder and colleague expectations and deliver consistently high-quality outputs.
