The Urban Youth Center Program Manager will work at the San Diego American Indian Health Center’s Urban Center (UYC) under the supervision of the Director of Behavioral Health. The Youth Urban Program Manager is involved in all daily activities of the program to include oversight of the PEI grant, structure/support activities for youth during unstructured time, and actively participate with youth. The Urban Youth Program manager will be available for informal peer counseling with any youth, families, elders, and will support and collaborate with the clinical staff, while following all procedures and protocols set in place by SDAIHC.
- Primary Functions:_
- Oversees the development, implementation, and delivery of culturally appropriate programming at the SDAIHC UYC to at least 200 unduplicated AI/NA youth.
- Sales and marketing to outreach to diverse social and ethnic groups and communicates effectively with them.
- Develops, manages systems and procedures to efficiently track and trend all sales activity.
- Creates contacts and generates a referral source.
- Monthly goals and productivity metrics.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum Qualifications:_
- MS Office, computer, and Social Media experience.
- Knowledge of and/or experience with HMO, Medi-Cal/Medicaid, Medicare.
- Knowledge and/or experience with the healthcare market, including competitors, regulations, and available resources.
- Experience in a medical staff leadership role, such as medical staff department or committee chairman, preferred.

Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma required; GED is accepted. College degree required. Individual with a positive attitude who shows leadership, maturity, enthusiasm, common sense, good judgment, and functions well in a team environment. Experience working with youth and adolescents is preferred.

Experience with the American Indian community is preferred.

Licenses: Proof of college degree. Valid CA driver’s license.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Values working in a multicultural/diverse environment. Maintains appropriate professional dress at the youth center, maintains boundaries, and ensures confidentiality at all times.

Language Skills: Should be comfortable speaking in public, able to respond to questions from groups, directors, parents, community agencies, medical and behavioral health staff, and the public. Should be capable of assisting youth with homework (basic skills in reading, writing, science, arithmetic).

Computer Skills: Should possess basic knowledge of word processing skills and internet navigation.

Physical Demands: May be requested to do light lifting and engage in physical activities with youth per YC schedule. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities.
